I read the label on Ezekiel 4:9 Bread for the first time today.

I've avoided reading the fine print for all the years that I've been eating it.  It is basically the food equivalent of an itinerant street preacher.

Per the label, 

"AS DESCRIBED IN THE HOLY SCRIPTURE VERSE:  Take also unto thee WHEAT, and BARLEY, and BEANS, and LENTILS and MILLET, and SPELT, and put them in one vessel, and make a bread of it..."  Ezekiel 4:9"

The label encourages you to, 

"...partake of the miracle.  Your body and taste buds will know the difference!"

Dude.  It's just health bread.  Jeez.  

Ezekiel Bread is on the outer edge of what is acceptable on a low carb diet, but I've been eating it anyway.  It's tasty.  And each slice has about half the net carbs of a regular slice of bread.  Also, it's made of sprouted grains, so it is completely free of flour.  I don't fully understand how that works, but it's on the label, so I am going to treat it like the gospel truth.  (SWIDT?) 

I use Ezekiel Bread for one of the simplest and most comforting foods there is: cinnamon toast.

It's one of those recipes that is so easy, it almost doesn't need to be written down.  

But I'm going to do it anyway.  I'm just zealous like that.  

Low Carb Cinnamon Toast Recipe

Low Carb Cinnamon Toast

Ingredients

toast:

  • 1 slice Original Ezekiel 4:9 Bread
  • 1 teaspoon butter

sugar-free cinnamon sugar:

  • 1/4 cup Swerve or equivalent granulated sweetener
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

1.  Mix up your sugar-free cinnamon sugar. (You'll have much more than you need, but it's good to have around the house.)

2.  Toast a slice of Ezekiel Bread.

3.  Butter it and sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top.
