But I actually came here to talk about real pretzels. Food pretzels.
Soft pretzels seem like they’d be way off limits on a low carb diet. But not so. I just found this great recipe for soft pretzels on My Keto Kitchen. They taste just the same as regular pretzels, but a normal pretzel has 80g net carbs and these only have 3g. It’s a pretty slick.
The secret to this low carb pretzel is fathead dough. This is a simple dough made of mozzarella cheese, eggs and almond flour. This version of the dough also uses cream cheese, Xanthan gum, butter and yeast. The yeast gives the low carb pretzels that perfect bread-y flavor. These pretzels are very convincing.
I’m telling you, these pretzels will have you doing back flips.
