    Greetings Jello lovers 👋

Today's retro Jello recipe comes to us from the venerated Joys of Jell-O cookbook.

The idea is to create a light and airy Jello fluff salad using just Sugar-Free Jello and whipped cream. ⛅

Cover of the book Joys of Jello

    You've got 2 options 🤔

You can use a store-bought tub of Cool Whip if you want to save time.  All you need is a package of Sugar-Free Jello and a tub of Cool Whip.  The downside of this recipe is that the net carb count is 12g per serving.

This brings us to method number 2.  You can make your own sugar-free whipped cream and it lowers the net carb count down to 1g.

    That’s more like it!

a bowl full of raspberry Jello whip against a green leafy background

    Ingredients 🥣

    • Sugar-Free Jello, any flavor
    • boiling water
    • ice water
    • heavy whipping cream
    • Swerve Confectioners

    Sugar-Free Jello Flavors 🌈

You can use any flavor of Jello that you like in your jello whips.  The four brands that make sugar-free Jello are Jello-O obviously, Royal, GramZero, and a scrappy little candy brand you might have heard of: Starburst.  Usually, the only brands that you can buy in the supermarket are Jell-O and Royal, but you can find the other two on Amazon.

    • Jell-O Brand Flavors: Cherry, Black Cherry, Lime, Lemon, Strawberry, Peach, Raspberry, and Orange
    • Royal Brand Flavors: Strawberry, Lime, Orange, Cherry, Raspberry
    • Starburst Brand Flavors: All Pink Strawberry, Blue Raspberry, Cherry
    • GramZero Brand Flavors: Raspberry, Strawberry, Cherry, Lemon, Lime, Orange

    Naturally Sweetened Jello 🍚

Now I know that some of you are concerned about the artificial sweeteners in Jello. (I post a lot of Sugar-Free Jello recipes, so I hear about this on the daily.). But there is a naturally sweetened brand of gelatin that you can use. It's the GramZero brand that I mentioned. Just skip the part where you quick set the Jello with ice cubes.

It is sweetened with Stevia, so you've got no worries. 😇.

2 glass jars of creamy Keto Jello whip

    Instructions 🧾

    1. In a medium-size bowl, stir Jello powder into boiling water and keep stirring until it is completely dissolved.
    2. Fill a 1 cup measure with ice.  Fill the remaining space in the measure with water to make 1 cup of ice water. If using GramZero brand jello, don't use ice water, just the same amount of cold water.
    3. Stir the ice water into the Jello and keep stirring until cooled and the ice cubes are mostly melted.  Remove any unmelted ice cubes.  The Jello will soft set while you do the next step.
    4. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to whip together sweetener and heavy whipping cream.  Whip until stiff peaks form.
    5. Use the electric mixer to whip the soft set Jello into the whipped cream.  Mix until fully combined.
    6. Pour the Jello whip mixture into 4 custard cups or 1 medium-sized bowl and refrigerate for 2 hours.

    And voilà! 👩‍🍳

This is one of those easy recipes that seem too good to be true.  But you really can “whip up” a rather decadent treat for yourself in less than 10 minutes.  It’s a creamy, fluffy, fruity delight.

    A true Joy of Jello.🥰

Your recipe sounded simple and quick. It was! I used raspberry flavored sugar-free Jello (in the big box) to make a goodie to take to my daughter's house tomorrow night for after dinner. Of course, I had to set some aside as a taste test tonight. LOL I was extremely pleased with the fresh, creamy airy result. I layered it like a parfait with some microvewave melted Lilly's chicolate chips thinned with some Wilton's chocolate thinner. I am looking forward to serving this up to my family! Thank you!

So glad you like the recipe. Adding chocolate is such a good idea. If you used raspberry Jello, then you might like another similar recipe on my site. It's a Raspberry Jello Mousse with similar ingredients, but it adds fresh raspberries and cream cheese, so it's even creamier and it has a nice texture from the berries. https://www.resolutioneats.com/blog/keto-raspberry-jello-mousse/

My SF jello box says 8-- 1/2 cup servings, so I figured you used the smaller box so I just doubled everything. I made regular SF jello on the bottom, let it set, then made your recipe to put on top for a more dramatic look and taste. I can't wait to try it. It looks delicious.

You did that right. I keep forgetting that SF Jello comes in a bigger box too. I've never seen it before, but have heard about it. I'm going to update the recipe to show the size of the box. Thanks.

That sounds delicious! (But before anyone else comments this… it’s not so Keto when you add Oreos. Although you might be the kind of go getter who makes there own. https://theprimitivepalate.com/2015/03/08/ket-oreos-low-carb-oreos/ )

Wow! Just made this with the small box of lemon jello! It’s so good, just what I wanted, there are so many recipes using cream cheese and sour cream but this is much lighter and tastes great! Thank you

Ok, I've been making jello and adding cut up strawberries. Then I add whipped cream to each bowl when serving. I'm on a low carb diet and this is about as close to a nill carb dessert I can eat! But was wondering if there were other ways to making jello. Question: there are two sizes of jello on the market. The small box requires 2 cups of water and the larger box requires 4 cups. Which one does your recipe require? The small box or the large box of jello? Thanks

Where I live in California, Ralphs carries the larger box of sugar free Jello too.

Just made this with Cherry Jello. Amazing! Helps keep the temptation for sugar treats at bay! I used the swerve powdered sugar and there was no after taste or cooling sensation. Trying lime fluff next!
